Most of the Premier League clubs will rest this midweek while the best ones are on their duty to represent England in Europe. For Championship clubs there is no rest, if you want to be the best one, you have to be prepared to work hard and play often. This Tuesday everything can change in Championship with so many direct opponents playing each other. Can Sheffield United maintain their good run and stay first? And are Wolves up to the task to grab a win in Norwich? Here is our prediction for this gameweek in Championship.
Burton vs Barnsley
This game is a unique chance for both clubs to grab some points. And there is no doubt that both clubs are preparing to fight for the win. But Burton only has 2 wins this season while Barnsley only got 3. Do any of these two sides have enough quality to grab a win?
Cardiff vs Ipswich
Both clubs are on the good run and both clubs know that a big part of their fight for the promotion depends on games like this. Cardiff got a draw with Millwall on Saturday while Ipswich managed to win against Burton. So, Cardiff has to win this game if they want to continue their fight for a straight promotion, but it just doesn’t look like Ipswich is going to let them win so easy.
Fulham vs Bristol City
Fulham had a must win game on Saturday against Bolton, but they only managed to get a draw. Now they are playing Bristol City at home and it just appears that Bristol City is in the better form at a moment. They are playing good away, while Fulham has only got one win at home so far this season.
Bristol City to win: 0-2
Hull City vs Middlesbrough
Lots of goals and entertainment is something that we can easily expect from this game. Both clubs are playing wonderful football but will that be enough to win this game? Only Tuesday can come up with an answer to that, until than it is up to us to guess an outcome and see if we were right.
Middlesbrough to win: 2-3
Leeds vs Derby County
With a game like this you would just love if somehow both teams could win. But that’s not possible, so we can see that a really good game of football is ahead of us. Both Leeds and Derby are serious candidates for a promotion this season, so both clubs will surely fight for a win. With Leeds playing at home and having better results so far, it looks like Derby will need to work really hard if they want to get a good result on Tuesday.
Leeds to win: 2-1
Norwich vs Wolves
One game can change everything. Once again, both clubs know how much they depend on this game. With a loss at QPR’s, Wolves lost their first spot too, now they have to work hard to get back on tracks. But unfortunately for them, Norwich is not going to let them win so easy since their fight for play-offs depends on this game too. Norwich was playing bad at home so far this season, while Wolves were brilliant away.
QPR vs Sheffield United
If there is a club that’s in excellent form this season, that would be Sheffield United. They came from League One to be first in Championship and it seems like nobody can get them of the tracks. However, QPR won against Wolves on Saturday, so can Sheffield United prove to be better that their greatest opponents this season?
Sheffield United to win: 0-2
Sheffield Wednesday vs Millwall
I said it before and I’ll say it again – it is never easy playing Millwall. But if there is a perfect game for Sheffield Wednesday to get back in form, that would be this one. They are playing home and they are good at home, while Millwall is not so brilliant away. This looks like a game for Sheffield Wednesday to aim for a win.
Sheffield Wednesday to win: 2-1
Sunderland vs Bolton
With both clubs being in relegation zone, this seems like a perfect chance for them to earn some points and get up. Bolton played well in last few games, but either way Sunderland is just a side with more quality.
Sunderland to win: 2-0
Reading vs Nottingham Forest
You can never know what to expect from Reading. Sometimes they play great; sometimes they are struggling so bad that they can lose from a far worst opponent. However, this time they are depending a lot on this game. Nottingham Forest hit a form this season, but are they good enough to beat Reading on Satruday?
Birmingham vs Brentford
If Robin Hood played football, he would certainly play for Brentford. They steal from the reach and give it to the poor. But are they so generous to give 3 points to Birmingham? I wouldn’t say so. Wednesday is an opportunity for them to rise up and I just can’t see Birmingham getting a good result from this game.
Brentford to win: 1-3
Preston – Aston Villa
Two points away from each other, both clubs are having a good run. Aston Villa has a more experienced team, but Preston is playing at home. With them being quite equal, draw seems to be an outcome to expect from this game.
