Liverpool have increased the distance between them and Manchester City during the midweek. Tottenham closed the gap to the second place. It looks like the Spurs are still in the title race.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United
Newcastle look like they are in a good moment, They have just broken their transfer record to bring the Paraguayan number 10 Miguel Almiron from the MLS champions Atlanta United. The three points they won at home against Manchester City showed that the Magpies have future in the Premier League. They didn’t just win the game, they have come from behind and it has bee na great day for them.
Now they go to London to play against injury hit Spurs and although that the Rafael Benitez led men play better on the road then at home, I still think that Spurs have a better chance to win that one.
Spurs to win: 2:1
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Watford
Brighton haven’t won since 5th of January when they scored 3 on their visit to Bournemouth and won 1:3 against the Cherries. Watford are in a good form and were very close to win against Spurs during the Midweek.
Brighton have a lot of play for as they aren’t that far from the relegation zone. However, I have a feeling that despite that the Seagulls are a good team at home, hatford would take something out on their trip to the South coast.
Burnley vs Southampton
The tow team who fight avoiding relegation meet and It think that they are equally good at the moment. Burnley showed the character they have been familiar with from their last season performances and drawn at Old Trafford. Now they welcome a Southampton team who has won tow and drawn two of their last four Premier League games. I’ll go for a draw.
Chelsea vs Huddersfield Town
The Chelsea’s 4:0 loss to Bournemouth during they midweek’s visit to Dean Court was very humiliating. I have no idea what Gonzalo Higuain does at Stamford Bridge and why Maurizio Sarri has brought a player at the end of his carrier to help his team to score goals. At the same time Chelsea sent Alvaro Morata to Atletico Madrid, something I cannot understand.
Nothing but a home win could satisfy the fans of the Blues. Huddersfield is a team who’s mentally in the EFL Championship and they should just finish the season and play for their fans.
Chelsea to win: 3:0
Crystal Palace vs Fulham
If Fulham win they will move very close to the 17th place and they will have a chance to survive in the Premier League. However, Cristal Palace aren’t a team who can afford to loose points. The Eagles have improved over the course of the season and it looks me that they are now trying to finish as close to the top 10 as possible. Bear in mind that Fulham have the worst defensive record in the league, while Palace’s defence are not like one of a team that fight for relegation.
Everton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
This will a game very interesting to watch. The two team led by Portuguese managers try to play offensive football and to entertain their fans.
Idrissa Gueye and Leighton Baines face late fitness test while the defender Yerry Mina will miss the game. Willy Boly back for Wolves.
Cardiff City vs AFC Bournemouth
After their 4:0 home win against Chelsea Bournemouth sit just 2 points below the seventh placed Wolves and I think that they can claim their position at the end of the season. Cardiff must win this game if they want to keep fighting for their Premier League place.
Leandro Bacuna who has just signed for them might be given his debut for the club. Harry Arter who play on loan for Cardiff is not allowed to play against his parent club Bournemouth. Victor Camarasa and Josh Murphy, who haven’t played against Arsenal are likely to return.
Bournemouth go to Cardiff without their goalscorer Callum Wilson. Jefferson Lerma faces a late fitness test, while Dominic Solanke is available to play.
Leicester City vs Manchester United
I think that Manchester United will win on their visit to Leicester. The Foxes are a good team. They have had some chances to score at Anfiled during the midweek and have used one of them. However, at home agains united their will need to attack and this will leave space for United.
Leicester have no injury concerns after their visit to Liverpool.
Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial are available for United. Chris Smalling has returned after a foot injury and is also available to play. Marcos Rojo and Marouane Fellaini are not expected to play due to injuries.
Manchester United to win: 1:2
Manchester City vs Arsenal
The last win that Arsenal recorded against Manchester City was at Etihad in 2015 and I think that the current Arsenal team has the potential to wither win or draw again at Etihad.
There is no need to say that if Manchester City drop points again this will do a lot of damage to their chances to win the Premier League for a second consecutive season.
Vincent Kompany is not available to play for City. The goalkeeper Ederson is expected to be back in the starting eleven after suffering a knee injury against Newcastle. Benjamin Mendy might be available to play.
Laurent Koscielny has returned to full training for Arsenal. Danny Welbeck and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding aren’t available for the Gunners. However, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is available to play.
West Ham United vs Liverpool
Liverpool have defensive injury worries. Jurgen Klopp will probably need to keep playing Jordan Henderson as right defender. Reds enter in the most difficult period in the title race and their defence should definitely improve after conceding some goals within the last month.
Marko Arnautovic is expected to be fit. Lukasz Fabianski and Aaron Cresswell are close to return after injuries. The new signing Samir Nasri has minor calf problem and might miss the game. Jack Wilshere, Fabian Balbuena, Andriy Yarmolenko, Manuel Lanzini, Winston Reid and Carlos Sanchez are long-term absentees for the Hammers.
